Highs & Lows From September

This blog has been a massive high! It’s made me take time out from my day and just stop to think about each post. Opening myself up on the internet is sometimes a scary thought. I’ve definitely had moments where I think I should make it private or change my name to something more creative so people I know don’t find me. But you know what… at the moment, I’ll be okay if someone I know asks me about my blog. Sure… I’ll more than likely be a little embarrassed but I enjoy writing about my life and others have enjoyed reading about it.

I witnessed one of my best friends get married and was so honoured to be her bridesmaid. We went to London to see the Harry Potter play. It was mine and Joel’s first year anniversary! It was a month full of love.

The only low points have just been ones created in my head. I trust the wait and embrace the uncertainty.

Grateful for this beautiful month of new beginnings and will continue to have faith in myself.

Summer Favourites

My summer consisted of an australian winter, working full time and dialling up my self love! It’s been a real mix and gone by so quickly. I can feel the season changing already and am really looking forward to cosy jumpers, ankle boots and scarfs. I used to think Summer was more my favourite season but I’m starting to think it’s definitely Autumn now!

These last few months have been full of adventures and there are certain items and people I have absolutely loved and wanted to share.

I am totally in LOVE with my new camera! My parents and Joel bought this for my birthday and it’s already had so much use! I took it to Australia, one of my best friends hen party and our recent Devon trip. I’m also trying to get in the habit of using it for really mundane things to just capture random memories. The quality of the photos and videos are crazy good. What I loved most of all is it has wifi in-built, so whenever I’d been out taking photos I can instantly download them to my iPhone and then upload to Instagram. I would recommend this camera for sure but if not, just at least buy one with wifi! I will soon try and upload my own photography more to my blog instead of photos from google images and Pinterest etc. But at the moment, my life is going to be super full with a new job and I’ll need to get into a routine to find time for blog photography.

Melissa Ambrosini
She is my absolute girl crush of the summer. I can’t even remember how I found her but I like to think she found me. My life has been a mental struggle at the moment, I’ve been feeling down and a bit stressed out but Melissa is starting to change my life. Her book ‘Mastering Your Mean Girl’ is amazing and so insightful. She discusses that voice inside your head saying you’re not good enough and teaches you to combat her so you’re not living in a state of constant fear. I haven’t changed overnight but over the last few weeks of summer I’ve definitely felt more mindful to my mean girl. Mel’s really active on her blog and social media, especially Snapchat which is so lovely as it gives me a constant daily dose of positive energy. I’ve yet to finish reading the book but when I do I will be sure to leave a review. So far I am loving it and am trying to soak up every chapter rather than rushing through it. Check out her YouTube channel to watch some of her Goddess Groups!

Kora Organics
I have wanted Kora Organics products for YEARS! They unfortunately don’t ship to the UK (or if they do it’s super expensive – haven’t checked in a while) so as soon as we made it to Sydney it was Operation Kora! I bought two packs of products in the sale and think I’ll do a separate post all about each product (little teaser 😄). All you need to know now is they are very good products and smell totally delicious while being 100% organic and no animal testing; it doesn’t get more natural than these products by Miranda Kerr. If you can get anything from this range I would recommend highly that you do so.

The Gratitude Project
Angela Simson is a gorgeous human being! I love her Instagram and blog ‘The Gratitude Project’. Again, she’s my daily does of happiness and inspiration for self love. She’s a fantastic writer and I soak up every word she says! Her and her family also live in the Gold Coast, Australia which is now my life goal so I’m hoping one day we’ll be the best mates… of course… 😃 She’s currently expecting a little one and I’m so looking forward to her posts on baby no. 2. Check out her blog for total loveliness! I also have her self love month programme saved to my favourites.

Food Matters TV (FMTV)
One of the things Angela recommended on her blog was FMTV. It’s pretty much the healthy version of Netflix! The app and website are full of recipes, documentaries, yoga routines and movies. I usually get something up on my iPad whilst I’m cooking or washing up and get in a dose of goodness rather than watching crummy British TV all the time. It’s so refreshing and I’ve been loving over May, June, July and August ♡

April Favourites

Has April come and gone already?! It’s crazy how time flies!

Last month was a very sad one for me but I won’t get into just yet but maybe some other time, so I’m back to blogging and really want to keep it up the closer we get to my Australia trip! I definitely splurged a bit in April and have a few beauty items that I’ve been loving leading up to the summer! ♡

nd.29508

Rosie for Autograph (Eau de Parfum)
I am literally obsessed with this fragrance. It’s so sweet (but not too much!) and summery! I had this fragrance last summer too and it’s really nostalgic for me now. It’s a very subtle fragrance which I love, so I spray a few bit on my wrists and actually on the tips of hair and I find it lasts all day long. This would definitely be a great one to try if you’re looking for a new summer scent! 8965946277918

Tanya Burr Lunch Date Lip Gloss
I have wanted this lip gloss for SO LONG! Every time I go into Superdrug or look on their website it’s completely sold out! I have been loving Tanya Burr’s recent vlogs and snapchats, and on most occasions she is wearing this on her lips. It’s a nude/pink gloss but very subtle, almost like a clear gloss but tinted ever so slightly nude and it’s gorgeous. It goes really well with my skin colour and I wouldn’t mind wearing this every day rather than just on special occasions as I probably would have just done before. I’m so happy I finally have this in my make-up collection.

Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Medium to Dark Skin Body Lotion
I got this on recommendation from Anna Saccone Joly (can you tell I’ve been watching so many vlogs recently…) and popped into Boots where it was on offer so thought why not?! I tried it a couple of times and it is really so good. I hardly get any tan marks (like the blotches under the arm pits) and it smells so nice, just like a moisturiser and not a horrible fake tan scent. I try to put it on every other night or at least twice a week depending on how tanned I want to look. I’m very fair skinned to going for a medium to dark tone seemed extreme but actually it works really well as you see the tan quicker!clq_6MNY_402x464Clinique Even Better Foundation
I’ve had this foundation for a long time in Alabaster (01) but as I mentioned before I’m quite fair skinned but want to tan over the summer. I popped into Boots and the Clinique lady recommended the Ivory (03) shade. It is perfect! I just love the way this foundation sits on my skin. It’s not heavy but also creates a lot of coverage from a tiny amount. I still have foundation left in my last bottle and had it well over a year now. It’s got to be the best foundation for my sensitive skin I’ve ever used and would highly recommend it.61wBuqkqHOL._SL1000_

Etherial Posie Ted Baker iPhone 6 Case
I really wanted a new iPhone case to make my phone look pretty over the summer but kept putting it off until… I dropped my iPhone on to concrete! So it’s got a really annoying scratch on the corner which probably isn’t noticeable to anyone else but it is to me (typical right?! haha!) I quickly popped on to amazon and found this beauty! It’s so cute and a lovely pink colour. It’s got a nice subtle grip so not too soft for it to slip out of my hands! I am just loving this. I now need a front screen protector because I constantly want to turn it upside down so I can appreciate the case all the time!

So there you have it, my favourites for April were not quite as unusual as March’s but I got a fair few likes so leave any comments letting me know what you think of this month’s post. My birthday is coming up soon so my May favourites should be really great! 🙂

Thank you for reading and I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful UK weather!

February Favourites

February has just flown by! It’s been a busy month with moving out, my parents and husband being away in Italy and work… there’s been lots going on! So they’ll definitely be some random favourites for this month but I hope you’ll like them just the same 🙂

Ovia_fertility-mobile-app-icon

Ovia Fertility App. I have been obsessed with this app this month. Joel and I are trying for a baby and this is a great app to keep track of your periods, fertile window and note any other unusual womanly symptoms. Even if we weren’t TTC (trying to conceive) it’s a good way to get an idea of your cycle each month. I feel the older I’m getting the more I want to understand my body and there’s great apps out there to help you.

IDShot_540x540

Batiste Dry Shampoo. I’ve had a can of the original dry shampoo for a while and everytime I use it I always get grey hair and it’s so obvious it’s not been washed but sprayed with good ol’ Batiste. My hair isn’t very blonde but it’s bright enough for dry shampoo to be noticeable, so I thought I would try out the Brilliant Blonde can and its been brilliant (good choice of brand name there from the marketing team! haha!) It works exactly the same as the original and gives my hair an instant lift if I don’t fancy washing it.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Cleanser. I’ve been looking for an ideal cleanser for a while and I hear so many people recommend Liz Earle. I’ve tried it for only a few days and absolutely love the smell and the texture of this cleanser. My skins also feels so soft and fresh afterwards. At the moment, I’m just using this in the evening as my skin is so sensitive, I want to almost ease this into my routine so that I don’t end up with any reactions or breakouts. None so far, so fingers crossed it stays that way!

Amber Fillerup Clark. I have followed the Clark family for a while and love watching their little family grow in NYC. Amber usually posts fashion blogs but it’s when she uploads vlogs like this that I love her even more! There’s a few tips that I definitely took away from the video, like a shared calender so you’re on top of you and your partners individual schedules. I also loved the idea of a 30 minute power clean and will definitely do this once we’re all set up in our new house. She’s just so relatable and lovely. She feels like a friend, even though you’ve never met her 🙂

February has been a very boring month really. Aside from moving out and it being my Mum’s 50th birthday, there’s not been time for little treats or to notice anything else of mine as a favourite. I’m so looking forward to March, when the weather will (hopefully) be better and it’s Easter (my favourite time of year)!

January Favourites

I really love watching vloggers monthly favourites videos. It’s just so interesting to see what other people have purchased or done and loved in a certain month. I also think it’s a nice way to appreciate and note down items and activities you’ve enjoyed. So, here is my first favourites post of 2016! 😀

Cath Kidston 2016 Diary.jpg

Cath Kidston 2016 Diary. My January would not be complete without a diary and this Cath Kidston diary is super cute! It’s got lots of space under the dates of the week on every left-hand page and then space on the right to jot down any notes. The back of the diary also has an address book, birthdays and important dates, travel planning (where I’ve noted down all the places Joel and I want to visit this year), to do and shopping lists and lots of notes pages. It fits in my bag easily, is flexible and covered well so I don’t get worried about it being ruined. It’s been the perfect organisational tool for my blog writing and weekly date night planning.

Ganni Pink Jumper.jpg

Ganni Claudia Knit Jumper in Rose Dawn. I had seen Anna Saccone wearing this jumper in one of her videos (Winter Sales Haul) and it looked so gorgeous on her I just had to buy it. It was £60 in the sale which is way more than I would usually spend on a jumper but I’m really glad I did because I have lived in this all January! It’s so soft and cosy that you could wear lounging around the house but also with the nigh neck and quality of the fabric I wear into the office with skinny jeans and it looks really nice as a smart/casual outfit.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer.jpg

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer. I can happily say this has been a lovely addition to my make-up routine, which was already very simple so hasn’t impacted my mornings too much! I did buy a few new items of make-up but had decided that this is the one I had used every day without fail since purchasing. I plop a little bit of this concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes. It goes a long way in covering up any dark circles and scars.

Yoga Camp.jpg

Yoga Camp by Yoga with Adriene. I had set an intention in December to commit to a daily yoga practice but unfortunately life got in the way a little and I haven’t been sticking to it as best as I could have done. However, I have completed Yoga Camp on the occasional days in January and it’s been amazing. Adriene just captivates you and makes yoga fun! Every time I follow one of her videos I instantly feel better and at ease. I recommend the videos to my family and work colleagues all the time and will be catching up on the videos I missed throughout February.

Kate Murnane.jpg

Kate Murnane aka. Dollybowbow. I thought I would finish off my post with a blogger that has inspired me in January and that is (a fellow) Katie. We are so similar! She is from Kent, we buy all the same stuff (not joking… 80% of the items in her January favourites I have bought at some point also) and her boyfriend isn’t around on some Saturdays because he plays football and it throws all of your weekend plans out the window (I can totally relate… it’s Rugby for Joel). I find her vlogs so nice to watch and found myself on a Sunday this month tucked up in bed watching all of her recent videos. I especially loved her candid birth story video, it had me chuckling out loud and at that point I found her really endearing. I will definitely be staying updated on how Kate and her cute family are getting on in 2016.
