There are so many lovely gifts out there to spend on your loved ones and one of my favourite past times is surfing through the ‘Gift Finder’ app from notonthehighstreet.com to get inspiration!

Personalised Children’s Story Book
It’s so hard to find the right gifts for children, so a personalised book in their name you know will be something they treasure forever.

Magical Affirmations

December is so magical and wonderful! It’s the greatest time for reflection than any other in the year and today I felt like writing about a little something I’m passionate about.

I love affirmations and read enough books to know that this is a constant theme in the steps to self-love. If you say these affirmations enough, you will believe and become them. Negativity fills so much of our days. We self-deprecate everything we do and don’t acknowledge our full potential.

I try and read an affirmation every morning to really start the day on a high and repeat it constantly whenever my mind begins to wander out of the present moment.

Here are some that I found on The Mala Collectives Pinterest Board ♡

I’ve found you have to be very open minded with affirmations. In today’s society where there is gossip, negativity and harsh realities, repeating these affirmations is where I tell myself that everything’s okay, you’re more than this time, you’re full of so much love and fear will not control you.

I’ve had plenty of times where I’ve forgotten that lately but will get back on track starting from right now. I also hope you will be enlightened by this post to at least try and see how great you feel!

December Goals

The countdown to Christmas has finally begun! 🎄🎅🏼❄️🌟🎁👼🏼✨

I hope you’ve all had the first chocolate in your advent calendars this morning! I can’t wait to celebrate, eats lots of mince pies and relax over the festive period. I thought setting some goals for this month would be a great way to start off Blogmas, so here are a few intentions of mine for December.

Enjoy Christmas!
It really is the best time of year. The weather has turned so cold and there’s a frost every morning now which means our home is even more cosy than usual. I can’t wait to get out our Christmas decorations and wrap the presents for our loved ones. I must make time to enjoy some Christmas movies and listen to my Christmas playlist because once it’s over, I always kick myself that I didn’t do enough.

Get Organised
I must not leave getting presents until the last minute, so really want to stay on top of this! It would be great to also make more time to see our families and have fun days out.

De-Stress
I really want to use this month to really, truly relax. I’ve been meditating every morning but want to take it to the next level and make the time to meditate in the evening before bed too. I’ve also recently been using affirmations as a way to de-stress so hopefully will continue to do this in December.

I feel like a new dawn has broken for me and even though the majority of this year has been a struggle, I will end it on a high! ❤️

Time For Change

This blog is a secret no longer! I announced on my Twitter this afternoon that katiestocker.com is here and I’m so happy. ☺️

time-for-change

I love writing and have to stop comparing myself to others in every aspect of my life. This is a type of blog I enjoy reading and if others don’t, well that’s okay.

I love this passage from Louise Hay:

Often what we think of as the things “wrong” with us are only our expressions of our own individuality. This is our uniqueness and what is special about us. Nature never repeats itself. Since time began on this planet, there have never been two snowflakes alike or two raindrops the same. And every daisy is different from every other daisy. Our fingerprints are different, and we are different. We are meant to be different. When we can accept this, then there is no competition and no comparison. To try to be like another is to shrivel our soul. We have come to this planet to express who we are. I didn’t even know who I was until I began to learn to love myself as I am in this moment.

You Can Heal Your Life – Page 79

We all have to stop comparing and worrying what others think and just do right by ourselves. I’m learning to love myself more and more one day at a time. So I’ll just keep posting about anything and everything I love and want to write about, regardless! 💖

Something I Struggle With

This is the a big one that I know most of us struggle with and that is…

Procrastination
The avoidance of doing a task which needs to be accomplished. It is the practice of doing more pleasurable things in place of less pleasurable ones, or carrying out less urgent tasks instead of more urgent ones, thus putting off impending tasks to a later time.

Yep. This pretty much sums me up! 😄 I sit on my sofa most nights knowing the kitchen needs cleaning or a load of washing needs to be done and I tell myself “oh I’ll just do it later…” So I go back to watching TV and flick through my social media apps countless times.

Later comes and I’m tired so I go to bed. Then when I wake up in the morning I’m so frustrated with myself that the kitchen is a mess! It’s a vicious cycle that I can’t seem to break. I then make excuses to myself over and over again.

I put my procrastination down to being uninspired. For example, our kitchen was constantly a mess and it didn’t “flow” properly (if that makes any sense at all 😂) and the cupboards were so full with junk. So, I spent a day cleaning and reorganising and then I was finally INSPIRED! I cooked our favourite Buckwheat Risotto from Madeleine Shaw’s recipe book, washed up as I went and then still had time to sit and relax with my hubby.

Being inspired and organised completely stops my procrastination. When I’m inspired I just do, I don’t struggle and make excuses for myself. The things I need to get done just happen naturally.

I love this quote ❤️

Something I Struggle With | Katie Stocker

I thought I would struggle with this 30 day writing challenge because the sofa seems much more appealing after a long day at work but because I’ve been loving it so much, I just automatically switch on my iMac and start writing my little heart out. It energises me and I love it!
