Healthy Lifestyle Starts Now!

When health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot manifest, strength cannot be exerted, wealth becomes useless and reason is powerless.

I’ll start off by saying, I start a new job next Monday! ❤️ So these weekly updates have now been changed to monthly ones, as detailing what I’ve been fuelling my body with week by week is going to be a bit difficult. This post has really excited me and even though I’ll be a super busy bee, I definitely want to keep up with my new food diary and share it with the world!

I’ve mostly been nourishing my body with foods that I know are benefiting me and it feels sooooo good! Don’t get me wrong though, there was a day when I had 2 pizzas in a row… 😁 (THE SHAME!) The real key is that, I know it’s bad for me and I allow myself to feel it but then dust myself off and make improvements. I’m no longer ignorant to my unhealthy eating habits so no more, “the diet can start on Monday” – this lifestyle is NOW!

So over these past few weeks, I’ve had some pretty simple meals but very tasty!


Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day! I can’t go a day without eating something to get me going for the rest of the morning.

I love porridge oats and created mine with Organic Rolled Oats, Almond Milk, Manuka Honey, Maca Powder or Cinnamon, Full-Fat Natural Yoghurt and Raspberries or Blueberries.

I also made a really nice savoury breakfast from Madeleine Shaw’s YouTube Channel. I made it slightly different by using a Wholemeal Pitta Bread with Cherry Tomatoes, Rocket, Spinach, Smoked Salmon and Lemon.

Then one day, I had a bowl of Cheerios (boo..! 😞) so realised I needed to satisfy my cereal cravings and created my own granola! This is another one from Madeline’s YouTube Channel! It’s made of Organic Rolled Oats, Pumpkin Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Pecans and Cinnamon, baked for around 10 minutes (I did a bit longer for extra crunch). I eat it with Full-Fat Natural Yoghurt, Strawberries, Blackberries, Raisins and a little bit of Honey. So quite sweet but it’s a treat!

When I get to work, I’ll sometimes team my breakfast with either a Coconut Water, Decaf Earl Grey Tea, Green Tea and/or just Water.


I’m pretty good and will not skip lunch EVER! I work in an office and realised a few years ago that I need a boost of energy to get me through an afternoon. The trick is not to get anything that makes you feel sluggish and sleepy. I’ve pretty much trained myself to be a lover of salads and if I’m super organised, I’ll have the ingredients to whip one together every morning.

My salads are pretty simple I have Rocket, Spinach, Cherry Tomatoes, Spring Onion and Cucumber. Then pop in some flavour depending on what I fancy such as Feta, Chia Seeds, Hemp Seeds, Evening Primrose Oil, Apple Cider VinegarSmoked Salmon or Ham.

I also love a soup. Quick and easy to heat in the office microwave, whilst staying healthy! There’s one I grab from a place called Rawberry in Winchester which is a Thai Carrot Soup and it’s made of Carrot, Chilli, Lemongrass and Coconut. It’s delicious!


Dinner is always a tough one because by the time I get home, I’m shattered but want to do yoga, a workout, housework, catch up on TV, organise my life, pay bills etc etc! Then there’s also the complication of being married and your hubby perhaps not being on the same course as you that day. Usually when I would like something small, Joel’s body is calling out for steak! So compromise and time are big learning curves!

Saying that, we have actually eaten the same meals for most of this month. I made a great meal of Salmon cooked in Coconut Oil, spirulized Cucumber topped with Evening Primrose Oil and Sesame SeedsSweet Potato fries with Pink Sea Salt and Coconut Oil, Full-Fat Natural Yoghurt mixed with Smoked Paprika, Pink Sea Salt and Lemon. It’s now my specialty and we absolutely love it!

We did eat Fajitas one night but I substituted a few ingredients for a healthier version! Guacamole was switched with good ol’ mushed up Avocado, the salsa was just Cherry Tomatoes and sour cream was my favourite Full-Fat Natural Yoghurt. You could taste the difference… in a good way!

I also made some savoury muffins from… you guessed it… Madeleine Shaw’s YouTube Channel! (She’s been amazing recently!) I created them with Spring Onions, Cherry Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Spinach and Ham.

Snacks & Desserts

I usually graze on Blueberries, Apples, Oranges and/or some Dark Chocolate whilst at my desk or at home. Recently I’ve been trying to eat a pot of nuts to subside any cravings! These pots consist of Cashews, WalnutsPumpkin Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Almonds, Pecans and Raisins.

I also love to make a smoothie! My favourite at the moment consists of frozen Raspberries, Blackberries, Blueberries and Banana with Almond Milk, Maca Powder and Acai Powder. I always try and make up few frozen packs at the weekend, so that they’re ready to make in the morning as either a quick breakfast or snack.

My desserts lately have been really limited! I’ll either just have a little Dark Chocolate or a teaspoon of Manuka Honey. Need to think up some recipes!


This is still a work-in-progress! Although I kept up a Yoga practice for 4 days in a row on week one and smaller stretches on the other days. We did a big walk around Lulworth on a Saturday that got my heart rate pumping! Meditation-wise has been a struggle but I try and squeeze one in the morning, even if it’s just 3 minutes (at least)!

So there you have it! My February Glow-ness! I’m so proud of myself! I love eating healthy and learning about the human body and mind. Food plays such a large part of that and I’m hugely grateful to have the ability and means to fill my world with clean, organic and whole foods. ♡

Get The Glow

The body is your temple. Keep it pure and clean for the soul to reside in.

I couldn’t believe when I read that the average person in Britain consumes about 140 teaspoons of sugar per week! High sugar intake upsets our hormones, stores as fat and masks the tastes of other foods. So I’ve decided to kick the sugar habit once and for all and I’m so excited!!!

I’ve been following Madeleine Shaw’s recipes from her ‘Get The Glow’ and ‘Ready Steady Glow’ books on and off for the last few years. She’s really great at creating simple, healthy and low-sugar meals! I would definitely recommend visiting her website for inspiration and to learn more about her food philosophy.


I’ll be writing weekly updates on the foods I’ve been nourishing my body with and why, in the hopes it’ll inspire others out there to do the same. ♡

So far, it’s been really easy with the exception of… quitting chocolate! That is proving to be the most difficult obstacle, as a self-obsessed choco lover!

I’m sure they’ll be good weeks and bad weeks but I want to document this journey truthfully and prove to myself I have what it takes to turn this into my new lifestyle! Let’s see how I get on!

January Favourites

I thought I would do something a little different with my favourites posts for 2017 and came across this idea of what I’m currently up to, rather than searching around for “things” I’ve loved in a month. Let’s see if I can keep this up!

Avocado and strawberries on rye bread. This recipe is in Niomi Smart’s cookbook and I love it! A really random combination but it honestly works so well!

Water. Eight glasses a day at the beginning of the month but that has slowly declined. Why is it so hard to drink water?! Must try harder…

I finished off season 2 of Narcos and it’s absolutely brilliant! I also watched Band of Brothers again which is such an incredible piece of film making. Highly recommend both!

Ed Sheeran – Castle on the Hill

I hadn’t really read anything in January! Time was just not on my side. However, I did pick up a few chapters of ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ by Louise Hay whenever I felt like it before bed. It’s a great book to just pick up whenever and get some nuggets of wisdom.

We’re getting some designs through for our new kitchen. Still in the very early stages but looking to have something set in place in the next few months. We’re also planning our trip to Spain in July! 2 weeks in the sunshine! Cannot wait!


Instagram! Fallen back in love with it and it’s all thanks to the VSCO app. I edit all my photos at the moment with the HB2 / Hypebeast filter and loooove how they all turn out.

I recently found an old bottle of Lacoste’s Touch of Pink and have been wearing it pretty much everyday in January! Really nostalgic for me as used to wear everyday when I was around 17! (Almost 10 years ago… 😳)

My jeans and boots everyday. The weather has been awful. If it’s not freezing, it’s raining… as it has been for at least 5 days straight right now.

Peace. There’s a lot of mayhem going on in the world right now, especially in America and it’s crazy to witness. I feel like we’re just spectators in the destruction of humanity. Hope this feeling changes fast.


For most of the month, I was feeling down and a bit lost. Today is February so I’m kind of cheating but I got some good news which will mean a completely fresh start for me. So excited for this new chapter in my life!

Instagram Love

I had kind of neglected my Instagram for a while. I was never happy with its style and the fact that if I put up too many pictures, I thought it would bother other people. Then one day I realised I really shouldn’t care about what other people think!

If I want to put up thousands of photos from my day or trips away, then I will. Photography has always been a passion of mine and I think I’m okay at it, so why not show it off and give it the love it deserves! 😍

So then I thought I would do a round up of my favourite photographs for my blog and just explain a little about them and what they mean to me.

The one that started it all!

I was driving into work and it was a gorgeous fresh morning. I saw the sun rising all the way and knew there was somewhere I could stop and get a good photo.

I love how the start of a new day is so special and to capture it was beautiful.

These two photos are of Noosa… my new most favourite place in the entire world!

My Mum and I had the best day here and captured some lovely moments. We woke up in Byron Bay for breakfast, travelled to Noosa, had ice cream, walked the National Park for hours, watched the sun go down and then had a riverside dinner with fireworks!

It was the best, funniest, loveliest day ever and what made it better was it was completely unplanned and spontaneous. Beautiful memories with my Mum. ❤️

Byron Bay was the place I was looking forward to the most. I’d followed so many instagrammers that live here and knew it was a special place.

We had a great few days exploring and just soaking in the hippie vibe. Everyone was so cool… it was crazy. We saw whales for the first time! My Mum was so excited! Albeit, they were far away and she’d see them closer in Sydney a week later. I met Tuula Vintage and Melissa Findley on Wategos Beach after literally talking about them non-stop for days and moments before. That was pretty hilarious and amazing! To just stand by the infamous Byron Bay Lighthouse was enough for me but we did so much more then I ever expected.

I’m so grateful to capture beautiful sunrises outside my own front door but this Byron Bay one was extremely special to me! We woke up super early, along with many others and just basked in the rising sun of a new day. Incredible.

My final one is BONDI!

It was a really windy day and quite cold but we sat outside in the Icebergs Club anyway, drinking cider and watching the surfers. I love any photos of the ocean and its waves. They look like paintings to me.

My 2017 New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! ⭐️

I hope your Christmas break was a happy and blessed one. It’s hard to believe it’s been a full 365 days since my very first blog post! It was exciting, new and a massive accomplishment for me to open my heart to the internet. I’ll be honest, 2016 could have been better in a lot of ways but I can’t dwell on the negatives. I won’t… not anymore. New year, new me and all that!

My resolutions can sometimes be unattainable. I think I only achieved about a quarter of what I had intended last year but hey, life just goes that way sometimes. So this year, I’m trying to be a little more realistic but really sometimes you just have to think BIG… so let’s get to it!

Travel The World
I’d love to say we’ve planned amazing trips to exotic locations but alas, time and money cannot be forgotten. So with that in (constant) mind we’ve settled for a definite summer holiday to Spain, a potential trip to Italy and “the big one” is a huge maybe to Iceland. At the end of the day… this time last year, if you’d have said I’d go on a 3 week trip to Australia, I would have laughed saying it’s impossible. It’s not impossible, anything can happen! LOVE THAT!

Family Are Everything
This is a huge intention for me. My family live in Kent and I live in Southampton, so it’s a good two and a half hour drive if we want to see them. Usually we’re limited to visiting family on special occasions which is generally May and Christmas. I want to change that. I’d love to visit my Nannie and Grandad more especially, at least once a month. If I learnt anything in 2016, it’s that family are everything and you shouldn’t wait to see your loved ones. I missed saying goodbye to someone I loved so much and I have to live with that. I’ve learnt and I won’t make that same mistake again. I’ll make the time this year and carry that into the rest of my life.

Yoga is a dream. I get emotional thinking of how far I’ve come since starting. It’s fulfilled my life so much and I couldn’t imagine now not being a little yogi. I can’t express enough how much I intend to devote this year to being a better person inside and out. Drink more water, eat organic, more sleep, those affirmations… wow. I love this world and would love to share that feeling but you’ve got to discover it for yourself. If you’re reading this, join me in the Revolution… the 31 Days of Yoga! You won’t regret it.

Home Developments
I love our little home so freakin’ much (as if I haven’t said that enough)! It’s the best but it needs a few tweaks here and there… mainly the kitchen. Our “New Year Super Energy (!)” is going into redoing our entire kitchen. I’m going to have so much fun ripping out the old units (if they’ll let me!) Designing our own kitchen is going to be a great project for us and we can’t await to get the ball rolling.

New Little Addition
We’ve decided on a kitten this year for definite! I’ve been given the all clear by the husband who I think… let’s face it… was worn down by me saying I’d love a puppy so badly! (I joke of course! 😜) I love you so much Joel! Thank you for putting up with me and my crazy dreams and pet-broodiness. This intention could totally mean that other thing we all know I’d love more that anything in the world but I’m thinking about what is in my control and right now that isn’t just yet. Watch this space though… 2017 feels like it’s going to be AMAZING!

Merry Christmas!

The day is finally here! Be sure to eat lots of mince pies, play games, drink and be merry!

Let The Countdown Begin!

Only 2 more days until Christmas! 🎄🎁✨

I’ll be honest, I’ve hit a writers block. My mind is full of things to do and buy and create… I sometimes feel as though I’m about to implode. We’re slowly getting there with everything and I’m trying to take a step back from it all and not get overwhelmed!

There’s no point in stressing about presents, outfits etc as in the grand scheme of things.. it’s all so trivial. I’m trying to enjoy every moment for what it is and know that “it’ll all be alright on the night!”

So here’s to you too… Christmas may be fast approaching but remember that it’s all just about love and family.
