My movie collection is huge and my interest in a specific genre doesn’t exist! I love most types of movies from romance to sci-fi and comedy to action… I just don’t like horror. There are definatley movies I can watch over and over again so here are a few of my faves!
Back to The Future
This has been my favourite since I was little. The time travel, the adventure, Marty McFly and Doc Brown’s bromance… what’s not to love?! It’s a classic for me! This movie has the complete package and the soundtrack is awesome too. Power of Love by Huey Lewis and News also happens to be my favourite song of all time.
I was never allowed to watch this movie when I was 12, I couldn’t join my friends at the cinema and reminisce about Jack & Rose’s tragic love story. So when the time came a few years later and I watched it on TV one Christmas with my family… I was hooked. At first, the tale of romance between the leads compelled me more but after watching this movie at least 30 times now (maybe more) I see great film-making and story telling. The sinking of Titanic is a massive tragedy and I definitely went through a phase of studying its history thoroughly. I was so obsessed I even (finally) went to the cinema to watch Titanic… in 3D… on the day it sank… exactly 100 years ago. I’m still not sure if that’s a cool fact or a little creepy! (haha!) I guess all you need to know is I love it and can watch over and over again.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
It’s a long one but whenever it’s on I am hooked. The cinematography and effects are amazing. I especially love this movie for its message of life. It’s not always linear… there’s ups and downs and surprises along the way that make us who we are. Following Benjamin’s story always inspires me.
I used to watch this every time I went over my Nannie and Grandads house over the summer. I always say this movie was responsible for my obsession with space… especially the space programme and moon landing. I couldn’t believe they ventured into space in effectively a craft with enough power as a modern microwave! Then to go into space in a faulty craft and end up back home safe (spoiler!)… It’s always fascinated me!
Walk The Line
This is the first movie Joel and I watched together. I find the story of Jonny Cash and June Carter so interesting. Sure, I know they have probably dramatised this movie a lot but I don’t care! I love it all the same! Joaquín Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon are incredible in this and their chemistry is unlike any others I’ve seen in a movie. It’s my go-to chill out movie and warms my heart every time. It also gets me singing for days!
P.S. Sorry this is so late. I’ve been in London to watch Harry Potter and the Cursed Child! I thought I would have time to finish up this post but it’s been a very long and hot day in the UK! Will update and give a review in a future post. 😉
